Island destinations are only great if you can relax and enjoy the sunshine. Unfortunately, a lot of people travel to locations, such as Tahiti, only to find out that they have chosen the wrong traveling months. The weather in Tahiti can be rather temperamental, which is why it helps to know what months to watch out for. In this case, doing a bit of research will save you from a bad vacation. If you are in the midst of planning your vacation, do not plan one single thing until you read this article.

Did you know that Tahiti has a kind of winter? The weather in Tahiti that occurs from April to October is the closest thing that Tahitians have to winter time. From April to October, the trade winds can cool down this island quite a bit. You can still travel during this time, but you’ll need a light sweater during the morning and at night times. Another season to watch out for is the humid season (also known as the rainy season).

The humid season begins in November and winds up in March. The weather in Tahiti during this time includes a lot of rain, humidity, and general mugginess. The winds during this season can also be rather harsh, which doesn’t make any kind of vacation a good one. So, when’s the best time to go to Tahiti? Well, think about traveling during the summer months – the winds actually cool down the islands a lot during this time, so heat is not unbearable. In fact, most honeymooners tend to book their Tahitian vacation during the summer months. Sure, you’ll have to handle some cooler winds, but the island itself will be worth it.

It pays to research the weather in Tahiti before you book your tickets. You’ll find that a lot of travel site and agents offer “deals” during those “bad” months, but they are usually not that great considering the weather that you will have to deal with. Instead, it is a good idea to find the best possible price that will carry you to Tahiti when the weather is nice. Nobody wants to be stuck inside of a hotel room during their honeymoon, so make sure you know when to go. As with any other island, there are definitely months to watch out for in Tahiti – make sure you know all about them before you go!
